About Me

My name is Nate. I’m an American expat living in the Philippines. I’ve been playing games since I was a kid, and I’ve been writing about them on and off since 2007. I’m married, and have two kids.

If you are interested in reading some of my older material, you can visit my old blog, The Rumpus Room. I am currently a contributor on There Will Be Games, and I used to be a writer for the now-defunct Miniature Market Review Corner. A lot of other reviews are available on Board Game Geek.

I like a wide variety of games, but my favorites tend to emphasize interaction and emergent narrative. When it comes to video games I’m primarily a Nintendo gamer, though I do a lot of retro PC gaming as well. I’m a big fan of tabletop roleplaying too, and I play D&D every week.

Here’s some of my favorite stuff. It’s in no particular order, and hardly definitive, but it gives you a feel for what I like.
